Datacenter 06 — Schiphol-Rijk
Live datacenter in the Netherlands
The challenge
The previously installed chillers at this data center had issues with airflow. Because the air intake is very close to the hot air exhaust, this air mixes quickly. This needs to be resolved to improve the efficiency of the data center. This is where the challenge started for us. How do you create a chimney on a chiller that is weatherproof, prevents recirculation, and still allows quick access for maintenance?
What we did
The design of the project has started. DC Connect has created a strong frame and removable panels to facilitate maintenance. Even though the datacenter was live and the chillers were running as usual, DC Connect installed the chimneys on the chillers without any outstanding issues.
The outcome
Thanks to the installed solution, each chiller now has enough space to freely discharge warm air, without it fully recirculating. This contributes to the efficiency of the data center!
How our client stayed informed Our field engineers upload photos in a digital environment. Tasks are also created before the project starts, which can be checked off as they are completed. This information is immediately available to our office staff, who can communicate with the customer right away. This way, the customer is always kept up-to-date!
