What data we collect, and why

We keep the personal data we collect to a minimum. Two things on this website touch personal data:

1. Website analytics (only if you accept cookies)

If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site — which pages are viewed, and whether visitors start or submit the contact form. We turn on IP anonymisation, so your full IP address is never stored. No analytics script runs and no data is sent to Google until you accept; if you decline or ignore the banner, nothing is loaded.

Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR/AVG). You can withdraw it at any time — see "How to withdraw consent" below.

2. The contact form

When you submit our contact form, we ask for your email address so we can reply to you, plus non-personal details about your project (project type, timeline, and a short description of what you need). Your email address is the only personal data field in the form; it is sent to and stored by Netlify, the platform that hosts our website's forms.

Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries sent to us (Article 6(1)(a)/(f) GDPR/AVG).

Cookies and local storage

• dcc-consent — stored in your browser's local storage, records whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. Nothing is stored here until you make a choice.
• _ga / _gid — set by Google Analytics only after you accept. They help Google Analytics recognise repeat visits and are removed automatically if you decline or withdraw consent.

We do not use any other cookies or tracking technologies.

How long we keep data

• Contact form submissions (including your email address) are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting correspondence, then deleted.
• Analytics data collected via GA4 is retained under Google's standard Analytics retention settings and is not linked to your name or contact details.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Two processors handle data on our behalf, strictly to run this website: Google (Google Analytics 4, only after you accept) and Netlify (hosts this website and stores contact form submissions).

Your rights

Under the GDPR (AVG), you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, erase your data, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), if you believe we have handled your data incorrectly. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@dcconnect.nl.

How to withdraw consent

You can change your analytics cookie choice at any time using the "Manage cookie consent" link in the footer of this website. Withdrawing consent removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser and stops further analytics data being collected.
