Frequently asked questions
Quick answers, or just give us a call.
The questions we hear most from prospects — timelines, coverage, certifications, and how we work.
How does DC Connect handle delivery timelines — and what happens if something runs late?
Every DC Connect datacenter infrastructure project starts with a written plan and a documented timeline. Before work begins, we agree on the schedule in writing — no ambiguity about what's expected from either side.
During the project, you receive regular updates. If something risks the timeline, you hear it from us early. We'd rather have a difficult conversation in time to act than deliver a problem at handover.
DC Connect has a strong track record of on-schedule delivery across enterprise datacenter installations in the Netherlands and across Europe.
Which European countries does DC Connect operate in?
DC Connect is based in the Netherlands and delivers datacenter infrastructure projects across Europe. We have completed installations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, and Iceland.
If your project is outside these countries, reach out directly and we'll confirm whether we can cover it.
What certifications does DC Connect hold, and why do they matter?
DC Connect holds the following certifications relevant to enterprise datacenter contractor work:
ISO 9001 — Quality management. Our processes for datacenter infrastructure projects are documented, consistent, and auditable.
VCA 2-ster — The safety certification required for contractor work in high-risk industrial environments. All DC Connect field engineers are VCA-certified. Most enterprise datacenters require VCA 2-ster before approving a contractor for on-site work.
NEN 3140 — Dutch standard for safe operation of and near live electrical installations. Required for any contractor working in an active datacenter.
Legrand and CommScope staff certifications — Our engineers are manufacturer-certified, not just familiar with the systems.
For procurement teams: if your contractor approval process requires VCA 2-ster or NEN 3140, DC Connect qualifies. Documentation available on request.
What is the typical process from first contact to handover?
A standard DC Connect datacenter infrastructure project follows this sequence:
1. First contact — You describe the project; we ask questions to understand the scope.
2. Scoping — We assess what's needed and identify anything that could affect the plan.
3. Written plan — We produce a written project plan before any work starts. You know exactly what we're doing, when, and how.
4. Agreement signed — Everything documented and agreed before installation begins.
5. Installation with live updates — During the datacenter installation, you receive regular progress updates. You always know what's been completed and what's next.
6. Handover — Work checked, documented, and formally handed over.
7. Aftercare — DC Connect stays reachable after handover if anything needs attention.
Do you supply products only, or always with installation?
Both. DC Connect supplies datacenter infrastructure products directly — server racks, structured cabling, cooling equipment, power distribution units, and containment panels — from a portfolio of 150+ brands.
For most projects, we bundle product supply with installation. It simplifies the project and means DC Connect is accountable for both the materials and the result.
If you need product supply only, we can do that too.
How do you communicate with clients during a project?
DC Connect clients receive regular updates throughout their project — not a single status call at the end.
One example: on a recent installation involving 1,700 rack blanking panels, the client received a weekly email showing exactly which panel positions were completed and the current percentage done across the full datacenter. No chasing required.
You should never have to follow up to find out where your infrastructure project stands.
Can DC Connect operate in live, operational production environments?
Yes. The majority of DC Connect’s enterprise work takes place in live, operational data centers — facilities that run 24/7 with active systems.
We know what that requires: strict access procedures, full PPE compliance, zero tolerance for operational disruption, and close coordination with your facilities team throughout the entire project.
All DC Connect field engineers are VCA and NEN 3140-VOP certified — the standard safety requirements for contractor work in live data center environments. Share your site’s requirements with us in advance, and we’ll confirm the correct setup before the work begins.
What is the minimum project size DC Connect takes on?
DC Connect focuses on enterprise and commercial datacenter infrastructure projects. There's no fixed minimum, but we work best on projects where certified engineering, written planning, and structured execution add real value — full rack deployments, structured cabling installations, cooling systems, or hot aisle containment projects.
If you're unsure whether your project is the right fit, reach out with a brief description. We'll give you a straight answer.
How do I get a quote for a datacenter project?
Fill in the short form on our Contact page — it takes about a minute. Tell us your project type, your timeline, and your main concern. Someone from DC Connect will follow up within one business day.
We don't give quotes without first understanding the project. The first step is always a short, direct conversation to see if it's a fit.
In which major data centers has DC Connect worked?
DC Connect has delivered infrastructure projects in facilities of companies worth tens of billions.
Working in these environments means meeting the highest standards for access control, PPE compliance and on-site conduct — without exception. DC Connect is experienced in adapting to the specific security and operational requirements of major data center operators.
